THE BEST DAY EVER

Tänään käytiin Helsingissä Vanessan kanssa. Syynä oli Korkeasaari, jonne suunnattiinkin heti junan saavuttua Helsinkiin (H&M kautta tosin). Napattiin kauppatorilta evääksi muutama persikka ja litra mansikoita ja matkattiin lautalla eläintarhaan. Korkeasaaressa saatiin kulumaan muutama tunti ennen kuin kovempi nälkä iski ja päätettiin palata keskustaan syömään. Tarkoituksena oli mennä Picniciin uuniperunoille, mutta kauppatorilla myyty kala houkutteli enemmän. Lautaseltani löytyikin aurajuustolohta, perunoita, vihreitä papuja ja valkosipulikastiketta. Annos täytti mukavasti, mutta koska mikään ei ole mitään ilman kunnon jälkiruokaa seuraava etappi olikin Magnum Pleasure Store Vanhalla Ylioppilastalolla. Pienen alennusmyyntipyrähdyksen jälkeen poikettiin vielä Fazerille teelle ja kirjaimellisesti juostiin rautatieasemalle. Lahdessa molemmat olivat jo poikki, mutta onnellisia. Lautalla kuullun lapsen sanoin, tänään oli varmaankin maailman paras päivä.

Today I went to Helsinki with Vanessa. The reason was Korkeasaari where we headed right after the train arrived in Helsinki (to be honest, we stopped at H&M first). At the market square we bought a few doughnut peaches and a litre of strawberries and travelled to the zoo on a ferry. We spent a few hours at Korkeasaari before we got really hungry and decided to return to the city to eat. We were supposed to eat at Cafe Picnic but the fish sold at the market square was much more tempting. I ate salmon with bluecheese, potatoes, green beans and garlic dressing. Though the food satisfied me nothing is enough without a good dessert so our next stop was Magnum Pleasure Store at Vanha Ylioppilastalo. After a visit to the sales we went to have a cup of tea at Fazer and literally ran to the railway station. In Lahti we were both really tired but happy. Quoting a child I heard at the ferry, this could have been the best day ever.
